Hostage Taker Besieges Discovery Channel, Posts Demands on Web
posted 09/01/2010, 4:46 PM (Wired News) [Category: General] Authorities were negotiating Wednesday with an armed man who has taken an unknown number of hostages, who might have an explosive or “metallic device” at the Discovery Channel’s headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, just outside the District of Columbia.
Most of the hundreds of employees, including children at an on-site daycare center, have been evacuated, police said. The station was airing its normal broadcast, and no injuries were reported. CNN said at least one of the unknown number of hostages was a security guard.
According to television accounts, hundreds of armed police and bomb-squad officers were seen descending on the building in suburban Washington, D.C.
Police identified the suspect as James Lee.
According to a Wednesday update on the savetheplanetprotest.com website believed run by Lee, the suspect demanded that the Discovery Channel broadcast its “commitment to save the planet.”
Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution. A game show format contest would be in order. Perhaps also forums of leading scientists who understand and agree with the Malthus-Darwin science and the problem of human overpopulation. Do both. Do all until something WORKS and the natural world starts improving and human civilization building STOPS and is reversed! MAKE IT INTERESTING SO PEOPLE WATCH AND APPLY SOLUTIONS!!!!
From his website, and his postings on MySpace, Lee appears to be obsessed with the work of American writer Daniel Quinn, author of a trilogy of enviro-philosophy novels. Quinn’s 1992 Ishmael “uses a style of Socratic dialogue to deconstruct the notion that humans are the end product, t... (more)
The TV media is largely ignoring the fact this guy is a rabid environmentalist. As to his demands, it's hilarious the way socialists are so obsessed with what to do with other people's money.
The Discovery Channel MUST broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet and to do the following IMMEDIATELY:
1. The Discovery Channel and it's affiliate channels MUST have daily television programs at prime time slots based on Daniel Quinn's "My Ishmael" pages... (more)
Why is this being brushed over on TV? Because it doesn't suit their narrative, that's why. This guy's insanity is the logical result of their anti-human enviro-propaganda. Look for this story to be dropped after just a few days.

As the site is known for its earlier pranks the news was rightly taken with a grain of salt, but despite reports that the scheme needs presidential approval it seems the villagers are still really quite warm to the idea and are welcoming the prospect of investment.

The Federal Reserve is the ultimate tool of socialism because it's what makes all quiet wealth redistribution possible. Instead of having to tax people to pay for all the government handouts, they can just print the money and quietly devalue the currency. These things didn't start with Obama and it won't end when he is kicked out of office.
