![]() Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Tuesday said Iran's retaliatory strikes on Israel have presented the Jewish state with "its greatest opportunity in 50 years" to "destroy Iran's nuclear program, its central energy facilities, and to fatally cripple" its regime.
"Israel has now its greatest opportunity in 50 years, to change the face of the Middle East," Bennett wrote on X. "The leadership of Iran, which used to be good at chess, made a terrible mistake this evening." "We must act *now* to destroy Iran's nuclear program, its central energy facilities, and to fatally cripple this terrorist regime," he added. Bennett said in August that the US will get "a re-run of 9/11" if it doesn't fight Israel's wars and Israeli FM Israel Katz said later that month that the Jewish state expects its Western allies will strike Iran if they're hit with retaliatory strikes for assassinating Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. ![]() In December, Bennett wrote a column in the Wall Street Journal demanding America fight Israel's war and "bring down" the Iranian "regime."
Following Iran's strikes on Tuesday, AIPAC-owned senators and congressman demanded the US either work with Israel to strike Iran or strike Iran directly ourselves. ![]()
The Biden White House also said they would work with Israel to enact "severe consequences" against Iran for the retaliatory strikes.
Even though Israel insists that no Israelis were killed in the strikes -- which they characterized as a face-saving complete dud -- Axios reporter Barak Ravid said Wednesday that Israel is planning to launch a "significant retaliation" ranging from bombing Iran's "oil production facilities," "nuclear facilities" and "air defense systems" to conducting "targeted assassinations."
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards said Tuesday after their retaliatory strike on Israel that if they respond with further escalation "our next response will be with more than a thousand missiles." Follow InformationLiberation on Twitter, Facebook, Gab, Minds and Telegram. |
