![]() Even though poll after poll shows the majority of Americans do not want the US to aid Israel's wars, let alone send our soldiers to fight them, the US government has amassed around 40,000 troops in the Middle East and is sending even more to back up Israel's multifront wars. From AP, "US is sending more troops to the Middle East as violence rises between Israel and Hezbollah": The U.S. is sending a small number of additional troops to the Middle East in response to a sharp spike in violence between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon that has raised the risk of a greater regional war, the Pentagon said Monday.Regardless of the "specifics" the Pentagon won't get into, the general reason our troops and aircraft carriers are there is to threaten Iran and Lebanon with US military might if they fight back too hard against Israel's aggression.
