Times of Israel Condemns Staff Member For Calling Pres Trump 'Some Goy'

The Times of Israel condemned staff member Judah Ari Gross for demeaning President Donald Trump as "some goy" in an anti-gentile tweet.

Earlier today, Times of Israel staff member @JudahAriGross referred to the US president in a tweet as "some goy” on his personal Twitter account. The tweet has since been deleted. Such language is offensive, unacceptable and antithetical to the values of ToI.

Gross himself only issued a half apology.

I deleted the attached tweet. While I wholeheartedly stand by the first sentence, I believe the second crosses a line as the term "goy" to denote a non-Jew is seen by some as derogatory. My apologies.

The term goy is short for goyim which means cattle in Hebrew.

As the Times of Israel acknowledged, it's a derogatory term for non-Jews.

The Huffington Post in 2017 took heat after editor Chloe Angyal celebrated Steve Bannon leaving the White House with the headline, "Goy, Bye!"

She failed to issue an apology and insisted it was "intended to be a mashup tribute to Yiddish and Beyoncé."
