Rachel Maddow somehow managed to blame Donald Trump for the riots in Venezuela. The chyron on her show Thursday read: "Unrest in Venezuela Over Trump Donations."
Maddow actually tried to make the argument Venezuelans were "enraged anew" after a newly released FEC filing showed Citgo Petroleum donated $500,000 to President Trump's inauguration. Citgo is a subsidiary of Venezuela's state run oil company. Maddow was widely mocked on Twitter:
