“It is perfectly possible for a man to be out of prison and yet not free—to be under no physical constraint and yet be a psychological captive, compelled to think, feel and act as the representatives of the national state, or of some private interest within the nation wants him to think, feel and act. . . . To him the walls of his prison are invisible and he believes himself to be free.” — Aldous Huxley, A Brave New World Revisited

Middletown, DE - A Delaware police officer drunkenly broke into a stranger's home this weekend. He claims he believed it was his own residence. The officer, Michael Spencer, has a history of drunken misconduct.
On Saturday at 1:30 am, the drunken Spencer left a party at a friend's house in Middletown, Delaware. The off-duty cop fell asleep in his own car, only to wake up at 4:30 in the morning, walk several houses down, and attempt to enter the home he claims he thought was h... (more)
Last month, a Michigan family decided it would be fun to go camping for the summer, on a 10-acre plot of land they had recently purchased. Christopher and Antonia Hernandez wanted their six children to experience the outdoors, and get a taste for off-grid living. But after living in several large tents for 9 days, their rural experiment came to an abrupt end.
On May 19, the parents left the property to do laundry at a laundromat, as well as to buy food and some fenc
When we were first sent the video below our first thoughts were that there must be some exaggeration in the description. After all, the group of four African American shoppers were filming the police. Surely the officers wouldn’t have openly broken the law when they knew they were being recorded… right?
Apparently, the officers who responded to a Pensacola, Florida, Walmart had little concern for whether or not... (more)

It isn't often that honest people receive detailed intelligence about a planned gathering of violent men who steal for a living and kill with impunity. An event of that kind will occur from August 10-12th here in Idaho. In fact, I can provide the specific address of the armed robbers' summit — 700 South Stratford Drive in Meridian. The location is conspicuously marked and easy to find: It is the Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Academy, which will host a two-day sessi... (more)
Los Angeles, CA — Two years ago, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department equipped their officers with guns that were less safe, and unsurprisingly the amount of accidental gunshots has more than doubled.
Prior to the change in weapons, the county only had roughly 12 accidents per year, while now there are at least 30.
The new gun, the Smith & Wesson M&P9, is not fitted with a safety mechanism to prevent accidents, and the trigger is extremely sensiti... (more)

Santa Ana, CA — Last month, police raided a marijuana dispensary and were caught on a hidden camera stealing the merchandise and playing darts. Police entered the “Sky High” dispensary in riot gear with guns drawn and were extremely disrespectful to the owners of the property.
One of the occupants was handicapped and blind, and the officers were making jokes about her disability, and suggesting to one another that they should have assaulted her.

In the latest example of the punitive and reckless manner with which law enforcement officers treat pets, a U.S. Marshal deputy shot a dog Wednesday, while searching a man’s home for a fugitive.
West Texas homeowner Anthony McDowell says the unidentified Marshal shot the dog without provocation. “My dog didn’t bark at [the officer] not one time.” McDowell said. [He] didn’t even charge him.”
