WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans' concerns about the threat of big government continue to dwarf those about big business and big labor, and by an even larger margin now than in March 2009. The 64% of Americans who say big government will be the biggest threat to the country is just one percentage point shy of the record high, while the 26%... (more)
In 1948, the legendary baseball manager Leo Durocher declared that “nice guys finish last.” Although Durocher would later deny the quote, his pithy line summarizes a popular and pessimistic take on human nature. When it comes to success, we assume that making it to the top requires ethical compromises. Perhaps we need to shout and scream like Steve Jobs, or cut legal corners like Gordon Gekko: the point is that those who win the game of life don’t obey the same rules as everyon... (more)
RIP Patrice O'Neal! I loved this guy so much, he was funnier and funnier every time I would see him, he was on fire during the Charlie Sheen Roast! He really cared about the truth, too, and he wasn't afraid to say it. I'll miss him a lot! - Chris, InfoLib

The final episode of Derren Brown's excellent "The Experiments." In this episode, Derren asks if people can be induced to admit to crimes they did not commit. Rather than get someone to admit to a petty crime, Derren goes for broke and sees if he can get an innocent man to admit to a murder he did not commit.
Another riveting episode of Derren Brown's "The Experiments." In this episode, Derren creates a fake game show where the audience votes on whether to subject an unknowing participant to either bad things or good things. In short, the show sums up "the democratic process" wonderfully.
Here's another exciting episode of Derren Brown's "The Experiments." In this episode Derren Brown tests to see if he can use hypnosis to train a person to assassinate a public figure, à la Sirhan Sirhan and the assassination of RFK. Will he succeed, or is mind control just a fantasy?
NOTE: Be sure not to click through and watch this on Youtube as the top comment is a spoiler!
Another entertaining show from Derren Brown. I find it particularly interesting the way the media anchor so happily and willingly would take part in such a hoax and throw any credibility she had down the drain. All I could think of was the "Iran has nukes" lie the media endlessly parrots in like fashion. - Chris, InfoLib
I watched 5 minutes of football a few weeks or so ago on TV and the announcer was bashing some football player for being wicked and evil because he questioned the official story of 9/11, the announcer went on and on about how horrible a person he was and how he was disgracing the families and blah blah blah. It was like tuning in to some sort of two minutes hate session out of Orwell's 1984. - Chris
