Louisiana Police Department Can't Hire Any Cops Because They All Fail Insurer's Psych Test

Chris | InformationLiberation

Police in a small town in Louisiana are unable to fill three vacant police positions, because all their potential recruits keep failing their insurer's psychological exam.

The Advocate reports:
PORT ALLEN — The Police Department is having difficulty filling three full-time positions because candidates cannot seem to pass a psychological exam mandated by the company that insures the agency, Police Chief Ken Bates said.

Last week, Bates told Mayor Roger Bergeron and the City Council that his confidence in the Matrix Test had “depleted” after two candidates he felt were highly qualified to join his police force recently failed the exam.

Bates said one candidate has more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement and was honorably discharged from the military.

“I’ve spoken with other chiefs that have the same concerns,” Bates said. “While I understand their test is designed to get the right people, I don’t know if it pertains to each and every person on an individual basis.”

[...]Cronin said his company uses the test as an underwriting tool to limit its exposure to liability for the people it insures.
An ex-military member who was in law enforcement for 20 years, considering ex-military cops tend to act as military occupiers rather than "public servants," it sounds like the test is working quite well, cheers to the insurer.

[Police Chief Ken Bates] said that despite the shortage, the 16 full-time officers on the force have been effectively patrolling the city and “gathering information” on pending investigations. The chief said, overall, the city’s crime rate has declined despite a “slight” increase in burglaries.

Don't they all? I don't remember the last time a police officer approached me to help or serve.
I call them about threatening emails against my family; nothing they can do.
I call them about a person in my house refusing to leave, damaging property: nothing they can do.
I call them when someone kicked in my door yelling his head off; Nothing they can do...he offered to pay for the door...
I wouldn't call them now for any reason.

Don't call them! You're pushing your luck. Every time you deal with them is one more opportunity for them to unleash on you. They are all flipped out on steroids. It's an epidemic in the US and there's nothing you can do to stop them.

20933 Sounds like there is nothing they can do because you have more drama than anyone needs. Here maybe I can help stop allowing trashy people to come into your home or know where YOU live. Everything YOU just stated is a situation YOU put YOURSELF in. Good day
