 The lawyer representing the Republican National Committee told a New Hampshire TV station that the White House was investigated in a 2002 plot by Republican operatives to disrupt get out the vote efforts in a Senate race where John Sununu was ultimately elected New Hampshire's Republican senator. Today, at the New Hampshire civil suit motions hearing on the phone-jamming case, Robert Kelner, the Washington lawyer representing the RNC, noted that the White House has already been investigated for its involvement in the case. Kelner told WMUR-TV in Manchester, "In regards to the White House calls, the Department of Justice had known about them for a long time, investigated those calls, and did not bring any charges."
