![]() IF IT were not enough that Hurricane Katrina should cause problems for US Southern States, online sickos have managed to create a petrol scare for authorities to worry about. Spam emails have been warning South Florida residents that because of the hurricane gas stations would close at midnight and remained closed two to three days. Anyone who has stayed in Florida for more than ten minutes will know that there is no way to get about other than the car and so the email sparked a rush on the gas stations. The main problem is that the Labour Day holiday is coming up and a shortage of gas would mean that Americans would have to catch the train or bus. Amtrak trains are sometimes a few days late and the buses are slow. Although the news people confirmed that the rumour was false, petrol stations reported large queues and were soon out of gas for real. More on local10 news, here. |
