Trump Says Zelensky is a 'Dictator,' U.S. Negotiating End to War

It's looking like President Trump may actually make good on his promise to end the war in Ukraine.

From Antiwar, "Trump Calls Zelensky a 'Dictator' Who Has Done a 'Terrible Job'":
On Wednesday, President Trump called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a "dictator" who has done a "terrible job" as the two leaders are trading barbs amid renewed US diplomacy with Russia.

"Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn't be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the US and 'TRUMP,' will never be able to settle," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The post came after Zelensky said Trump was living in a "disinformation space" in response to his criticism of Ukraine not holding elections and for not reaching a deal with Russia earlier in the war or before the invasion. "I would like to have more truth with the Trump team," Zelensky said.
Trump also brought up the lack of elections in Ukraine in his post on Truth Social. "On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is 'MISSING.' He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden 'like a fiddle.' A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left," he said.

Trump said his administration was currently "successfully negotiating an end" to the war in Ukraine. US and Russian officials agreed on Tuesday during talks in Saudi Arabia to work to normalize diplomatic relations and toward an end to the war.

"Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the "gravy train" going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died -- And so it continues," Trump said.

Vice President JD Vance also took aim at Zelensky over his criticism of President Trump. "The idea that Zelensky is going to change the president's mind by badmouthing him in public media -- everyone who knows the president will tell you that is an atrocious way to deal with this administration," Vance said.
Zelensky appears to have made a gross miscalculation that he could treat Trump today the same way he did before he took office.

I don't know if he's high on drugs or just assumed Trump is nothing more than a puppet like his predecessor but his decision to insult Trump has clearly blown up in his face.

Polls showed in November that the majority of Ukrainians want a quick, negotiated end to the war -- and now they may get their wish.

As is to be expected, Trump's comments drew the ire of all the usual suspects.

It's a lot easier politically to start a war than it is to end one -- that's why I didn't join the chorus attacking Biden over the messy pullout of Afghanistan.

Even though Ukraine by and large lost the war while Biden was still in office, Trump is going to get blamed by the media for ending it.

Hopefully, Trump will follow through on his pledge to bring this war to a close. If he cuts off all US aid to Ukraine, the war will have to end in just a matter of months.

If Trump does actually move to cut Ukraine off, Zelensky may try to stage a false flag attack in a final act of desperation.

Don't forget, at the start of the war Zelensky boldly lied about Russia triggering a "radiation leak" that could wipe out all of Europe by supposedly shelling the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

It was clearly a ploy to try and con NATO directly into the war but the Biden administration didn't fall for it and the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed there was "no change reported in radiation levels" at the site and it was all a lie.
