President Trump said Sunday while pushing his Israel First plan to "take over" Gaza that he will consider allowing Palestinian refugees into America on a case-by-case basis.

Asked by a reporter whether he'd accept Palestinian refugees into the United States, Trump said: "I'd have to look at individual cases."

"But I do think that coming into the United States, we're taking a lot of people, but coming into the United States, it's a long way for them to travel," Trump added. "I think they'd be very happy staying in the general area with a place that was safe, where they could be safe and lead a good life."

Trump said on the campaign trail that he would "ban refugee resettlement" from "terror infested areas like the Gaza Strip."

As Bloomberg reported in September 2024, "Trump Says He'll Reinstate 'Famous Travel Ban' and Will Ban Refugees From Gaza":
Former President Donald Trump vowed to reinstate his travel ban that barred people from some predominantly Muslim countries and expand it to prevent refugees from war-torn Gaza from entering the U.S.

"I will ban refugee resettlement from terror infested areas like the Gaza Strip, and we will seal our border and bring back the travel ban," Trump said Thursday evening in Washington at an event alongside Republican donor and billionaire Miriam Adelson.

"Remember the famous travel ban? We didn't take people from certain areas of the world," Trump added "We're not taking them from infested countries."
Trump's pivot just so happens to align with Israel's demand that the West take in all the Gaza genocide survivors.

"I'm committed to buying and owning Gaza," Trump also told the media during the same Q&A. "As far as us rebuilding it, we may give it to other states in the Middle East to build sections of it, other people may do it, through our auspices. But we're committed to owning it, taking it, and making sure that Hamas doesn't move back."

"There's nothing to move back into. The place is a demolition site. The remainder will be demolished. Everything's demolished," Trump added. "We will make Gaza into a good site for future development -- we will take care of the Palestinians and make sure they are not murdered."

Trump's State Department under Marco Rubio last week moved to send Israel another $8.4 billion in lethal aid.

"The State Department has given Congress formal notification that it plans to move forward with sales of more than $8 billion in weapons to Israel, bypassing an informal review process that was underway in a House committee," The New York Times reported.

"The State Department formally notified Congress of its intention on Friday," the Times continued. "That same day, the Pentagon put out two news releases, one saying it was selling to Israel 3,000 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles worth $660 million, and another saying it was sending $6.75 billion of bombs and guidance kits. The Pentagon did not issue a news release for the sale of artillery shells, which as a direct commercial sale did not require the department to put out a detailed statement. U.S. officials also included additional bombs."
