![]() ![]() From The Wall Street Journal, "DOGE Staffer Resigns Over Racist Posts": Marko Elez, a 25-year-old who is part of a cadre of Elon Musk lieutenants deployed by the Department of Government Efficiency to scrutinize federal spending, resigned after The Wall Street Journal asked the White House about his connection to the account. ![]() "You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity," the account wrote on X in September. "Normalize Indian hate," the account wrote the same month, in reference to a post noting the prevalence of people from India in Silicon Valley. Most everyone suspected Elez was forced out and pointed out how Musk and Trump criticized "cancel culture" only to cancel one of their own for holding traditionalist political views. Whether Republicans like it or not, such views are mainstream among a rapidly growing segment of young right-wingers. If everyone who holds such views is to be canceled, you're going to be canceling tens of millions of young people to appease leftists who literally hate you. If we're to take opposition to gay "marriage" as a proxy, some 28% of Zoomers are opposed to it and their opposition keeps growing year after year. Removing 28% of Zoomers from society because they reject modern liberal values is just plain stupid and sure as hell not going to help "Make America Great Again." Evidently, Musk saw the backlash he was receiving and the calls for Elez to be rehired and decided to put out a poll on his X account asking, "Bring back @DOGE staffer who made inappropriate statements via a now deleted pseudonym?" Nearly 80% of those who voted in the poll said "Yes."
JD Vance, almost certainly with Trump's approval, saw which way the wind was blowing and said on X that he thinks Elez should be rehired: Here's my view:Rehiring him is a no-brainer. It's time to cancel cancel culture, not contribute to it with the type of cowardice we've seen the GOP exhibit for decades.
