Joe Biden voiced support for a "pause" on Thursday under questioning from a transgender rabbi.
I suspect this is intentional to make war opponents look like clowns. Biden reportedly told the trans rabbi: "I think we need a pause. A pause means give time to get the prisoners out ... I'm the guy that convinced Bibi (Netanyahu) to call for a ceasefire to let the prisoners out. I'm the guy that talked to (Egyptian President) Sisi to convince him to open the door." "White House officials later clarified that the Biden administration did not support a full ceasefire, but would press for temporary, localised pauses in fighting to allow the aid and release of hostages," Al Jazeera reported. Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said Thursday that "Israeli soldiers have completed the encirclement of the city of Gaza" and a "ceasefire is not currently on the table at all." A recent poll found the majority of Americans support a ceasefire in Gaza but so far the only Senator to call for a ceasefire is Dick Durban.
