Take this for what it's worth... From The Hill: President Trump on Monday sounded an optimistic note about future negotiations with Iran, saying at a press conference in Japan that he's not looking for regime change despite increasing tensions between the two countries. It's seemed like Trump's trying to do a repeat of his "maximum pressure" strategy like he used on North Korea and more recently Venezuela, i.e. using sanctions and threats to try and bring them to the table. If you can't overthrow the third-world "s-hole" that is Venezuela through sanctions and bluffs, I don't know how you can except to overthrow Iran.
