MSNBC's Katy Tur Completely Unaware Trump Admin Armed Ukraine

Most talking heads on TV news don't follow the news. Case in point, Katy Tur's latest gaffe where she revealed she was completely unaware the Trump administration had armed Ukraine.

MSNBC host Katy Tur tried to argue Monday that Republicans were opposed to arming Ukraine against Russian-backed separatists, despite the Trump administration signing off on the largest U.S. sale of lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine since 2014.

"At the Republican National Convention, the Republican party decided not to arm Ukraine," Tur said, prompting former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg to push back.

"But Ukraine is armed today, Katy. They are armed now," Nunberg said.

Tur appeared confused in response to Nunberg's correction, prompting her say, "I don't know" before thanking her guests for appearing on the show.

For around a month now, it has been a talking point for establishment Republicans (who hate Russia and think Trump making peace is horrible) to counter claims of Trump being "soft on Russia" by pointing out he armed Ukraine to the teeth.

I don't watch that much TV news but I've heard it at least two dozen times in just the past few weeks.

Last year, Tur had another similar gaffe where she revealed she was completely "unaware" that Obama promised Russia he'd have "more flexibility" to negotiate foreign policy with them after his election in 2012.

Anderson Cooper last year similarly revealed he didn't know Ted Cruz's name was Rafael, despite Trump repeatedly (and hilariously) referring to Cruz by his real name on the campaign trail.

These hack news readers literally do not follow the news.
