![]() Ann Coulter said Friday the Republican establishment's crooked omnibus bill heralds the end of America and the death of the Republican Party. Frankly, I think Trump was boxed in on this one by the Republican establishment, i.e. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, but it is what it is and Trump's refusal to veto the bill appears to have been a complete disaster. Trump's 3D chess with DACA was cringe-worthy and he followed the move up by tweeting about how the DOJ is going to ban bump stocks unilaterally (by claiming plastic parts are "machine guns"):
There's only so much 3D chess you can play before your base starts to think the 3D chess is being played against them. Ann Coulter had a great rant on The Tom Shillue Show after Trump signed the bill into law: She also slammed Trump on Twitter.
MASSIVE DEFENSE SPENDING to induct transgenders & build BIG BEAUTIFUL walls … in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Tunisia. IT'S 3-D CHESS! (There's never going to be a wall.) GOOD GOD! Will @realDonaldTrump talk about ANYTHING but defense spending???? Per Obama: The 1980s called & they want their foreign policy back. This would be like Reagan signing a bill that hiked taxes, slashed defense spending — but spent gobs of $$ on the Teapot Dome scandal. " I will never sign another bill like this again" She also tweeted this gem from the rumor mill:
Trump seems to be feeling pretty beaten down as this clip from Thursday shows: As I said the other day, the Democrats are now the party of mass censorship and corporate feudalism, and yet the Republican establishment is too busy selling out their base to capitalize on it, so instead they're losing on all fronts. It's rather pathetic, but Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Thom Tillis and many others have made it abundantly clear they place the interests of Sheldon Adelson and Paul Singer over the interests of the Republican base -- even if it means their own destruction (and ours). I don't think it's all over yet. Things have looked very grim before. Trump still has one Trump card if he wants to salvage his presidency: unilaterally declassify all the crimes of the deep state and let the chips fall where they may.
