![]() Jan. 28 - KGO - The San Jose police department is investigating its third death of a suspect who was shot with a taser gun. Jorge Luis Trujillo died Friday. Officers used a taser to subdue Trujillo Wednesday night after they say he came after them with a garden hoe in the 1200 block of Woodborough Place. Officers say someone had beaten Trujillo with a baseball bat before they got there. The exact cause of death has not been determined, but authorities say Trujillo suffered serious head trauma. Last year, two people died in custody after San Jose police used stun guns on them. The American Civil Liberties Union has criticized taser use as "seriously unregulated." Local authorities defend tasers as a non-lethal way to stop violent suspects. |
