The New York Times ran with Claire McCaskill's false claim she never "met or called" any Russian ambassadors in "10 years" on the Armed Services Committee in order to slander Jeff Sessions as though he's Russian agent. While the New York Times didn't bother to check her claims, a simple search of McCaskill's twitter shows she met and called a Russian ambassador at least twice.
The New York Times responded to this revelation by stealthy removing her comments from their article. They failed to issue any correction or retraction as The Federalist's Sean Davis noted on twitter:
