Judges really don't like it when people inform potential jurors of their rights, but that is even more true when it comes to the most despicable shysters on the planet: government prosecutors. It just so happens Judge Peter Jaklevic out of Mecosta County, Michigan is a former prosecutor, so you can imagine how he reacted when he found out a lowly pleb was passing out jury nullification fliers in front of his courthouse. From FOX 17: MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — A Mecosta man is charged with a felony for obstruction of justice and misdemeanor of tampering with a jury for passing out fliers about jury nullification rights on the sidewalk of the Mecosta County courthouse. These are extremely serious charges, and Wood boldly refused to take a plea deal. Quite frankly, this man reminds of Tank Man. "I truly believe in my heart of hearts I didn’t do anything wrong, I didn’t break the law, so they need to drop all of the charges against me," Wood says. His preliminary hearing is next Tuesday. _ Chris Menahan runs the alternative news site InformationLiberation.com, you can read more of his articles here. Follow @infolibnews on twitter. |
