![]() News broke yesterday morning that an American soldier murdered more than a dozen civilians in Afghanistan. A provincial council member told CNN that "the soldier goes to the villages of Alokozai and Barakzai and attacks four houses, in which he kills 16 civilians and wounded others." The attack included 9 children, 3 women, and at least five others wounded. The murders have been acknowledged by NATO although officials haven't confirmed the death toll yet. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) told CNN's Candy Crowley yesterday morning that "our troops are under such tremendous pressure in Afghanistan. It's a war like no other war we've been involved in. But no one can condone or make any suggestion that what he did was right because it was absolutely wrong." That's right--no one could condone the murder of innocent civilians.
