![]() One Dallas police officer has been fired and six are under investigation Six Dallas police officers are under investigation following a beating incident that was caught on tape. Police released the video Wednesday afternoon shortly after police chief David Brown announced the actions in a news conference. In it you can see Andrew Collins on a motorcycle being pursued by Dallas police on MLK Boulevard on September 5, 2010. The chief says the sergeant on duty specifically told officers not to continue the chase but they continued. When Collins stopped, they hit him. Two officers are facing assault charges in the incident. Three are accused of tampering with or fabricating evidence. Twenty-two officers responded that night. Three officers have been placed on restricted duty. The FBI is conducting a concurrent investigation into civil rights violations. |
