Estonian police announced Thursday they have detained five Israelis in the capital city of Tallinn, on charges of smuggling 43 kilos of top-grade Peruvian cocaine into the former Soviet republic, the Russian news agency Interfax reported.

According to authorities, the cocaine was confiscated more than a week ago. It had been hidden in a large, heavy metal gear wheel. The Israelis had in September started a company in Estonia to import these gear wheels, said Estonian criminal investigation department chief Lauri Tabur.

This is the most cocaine Estonia has recovered in a single bust, Tabur told Interfax
