Population control not good use of Buffett's cash

Giving money to charity is great.

It would be nice if people everywhere gave more money to charity. Warren Buffett's promise to contribute to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, however, is not a gift to charity so much as it is a donation to promote a liberal population control agenda.

In Vanessa Notman's column, "Buffett spends his cash right — donating billions to charity," (SN 7/10), she states that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's values are "commendable."

Actually, she is not telling the whole story.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation spends much of its money on international population control and abortion.

The foundation states right on its own Web site that it supports International Planned Parenthood Federation and Population Action International. Buffett and Gates are elitists who would rather see poor people kill themselves off through abortion, contraception and sterilization than actually improving conditions in Third World countries.

Notman is right about one thing — $44 billion is a lot of money. It is very sad that the money is going to be spent on a population control agenda that denies the dignity of human life. It is far from "commendable" that many babies are going to be mangled to death with this money.

Notman stated that Buffett's gift can "literally change the world." If it does, the change would definitely be for the worse.
