A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was arrested yesterday under anti-terror laws.

He was held by police who are questioning a 21-year-old man detained at Manchester Airport on Tuesday.

West Yorkshire Police said the teenager was arrested yesterday afternoon in Dewsbury and homes in the West Yorkshire town were now being searched.

Police said the arrests were not connected to those in London - where detectives were last night given more time to question two brothers seized during an anti-terrorism raid.

Officers from Scotland Yard Anti-Terrorism Branch were granted warrants of further detention for the pair who were arrested during a raid in Forest Gate, east London.

They now have until Saturday, 10 June, to question Mohammed Abdul Kahar, who was shot and wounded, and Abul Koyair, who are being held at London's Paddington Green Police Station.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: "This evening, officers from the Anti-Terrorist Branch were granted warrants of further detention for two men arrested on 2 June, on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. The warrants now allow them to be detained until Saturday 10 June."
