![]() On April 29, approximately 1,500 people, including Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners, Epoch Times staff, democracy advocates and Hong Kong residents, held a rally in Victoria Park to protest the practice of live organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners. They also protested the incarceration of prisoners of conscience inside China's labor camps and prisons. The parade also celebrated the landmark of 10 million people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.Taiwan University Political Science Professor Dr. Chu-cheng Ming spoke at the rally. He pointed out that in history, the Chinese communist regime has always chosen to be the enemy of the people, and the killing of its own people has never stopped. He also took the genocide of Jews during World War II as an example in order to explain the authenticity and urgency of the issue of live organ removals happening in China. Over one thousand people with their banners and posters set out from Victoria Park to Queen's Pier, Central Hong Kong. During the parade, some participants also performed the coordinated playing of waist drum and Tang drum. The march attracted much attention from Hong Kong residents and tourists, especially the tourists from mainland China. Many people asked for The Epoch Times special edition regarding the information about the live organ removals and 10 million people quitting the CCP. After the march, in order to bring more public awareness to the issue, participants also staged a re-enactment of the live organ removal operations that are happening in the communist regime's prisons and hospitals. Some other participants also protested along the pedestrian lane in the business area on Nathan Road. |
