Reporting from the scene, Ma'an's correspondent said the protesters, once they reached the other side, set fire to tires. Israeli forces also opened fire, the reporter said.

The government as it stands now is essentially a criminal cartel whose only goal is to create the perception of a demand for its services, it's imperative that no matter how much money they steal through taxation they improve social services as least as possible, because by doing so they actually decrease their perceived need, by stealing the money and giving it to offshore bankers, and the like, the demand for social services goes up as the average person's quality of life goes down, again as a result of the taxation and theft from the government itself to pay for their so-called social services, then in turn the average person, now poorer than before and more desperate, needs the social services even more, and hence the endless circle which creates the misery by which enslaves entire (once free) societies.
