One of the Chinese students who died Monday at San Francisco’s airport after her plane crashed may have done so because a fire-truck ran her over rather than from the initial accident. That’s horrific enough. But catch Our Rulers’ excuses for the inexcusable: though ”first responders -- including … deputies -- train extensively for plane crashes[,] … the scene that firefighters encountered on Runway 28 Left would have been difficult to comprehend: 307 aboard the jetliner, with about 180 of them injured.” Hmmm. Lots of folks find themselves in “difficult to comprehend” situations; that’s often what causes them to lose control of their vehicle. Yet when they run over a girl, the State isn’t interested in why: it’s sole concern is milking as much money as possible from them in fines and throwing them in a cage. Ah, but everything changes when the manslaughterers are “first responders.” Then the negligence is perfectly understandable: all that mayhem would confuse anyone, let along the crowds milling about. “San Francisco Fire Department Chief Joanne M. Hayes-White … described the scene as ‘chaotic’ when she arrived about 20 minutes after the crash. ‘We were dealing with a fire emergency and medical emergencies, and literally hundreds and hundreds of passengers and patients,’ she said.” Poor baby. Yo, Joanne: maybe the State oughta concede its incompetence and get out of the “first-responder” business before it kills another of the victims it’s purportedly rescuing.
