Elon Musk announced Friday that Twitter will be forming "a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints" to regulate content and decide who to unban. "No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes," Musk said.
"So why did you restore already Kanye West's account? Twitter should not be a platform to spew racism and antisemitism," Musk was asked by a libtard account titled "Republicans against Trumpism." "Ye's account was restored by Twitter before the acquisition," Musk responded. "They did not consult with or inform me."
Twitter previously had the "Trust and Safety Council" headed by radical libtard Censorship Czar Vijaya Gadde but she was fired immediately on Thursday after Musk took over. Depending on who staffs this council, the site could take a radical turn for the better (or worse). Former Twitter CEOs Jack Dorsey and Parag Agrawal both used the "Trust and Safety Council" to absolve themselves of any responsibility for the mass censorship regime they instituted. It's possible Musk will do the same but the council will be arranged in a way where they'll rule in favor of free speech instead of against it. Thierry Breton, EU Commissioner for the Internal Market, early Friday once again threatened Musk that free speech on Twitter will not be permitted in Europe. "In Europe, the bird will fly by our EU rules," Breton said, adding "#DSA [Digital Services Act]."
Musk told advertisers in an open letter on Thursday that "Twitter obviously cannot become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences!" UPDATE:
