An AP journalist who claims she heard a Southwest Airlines pilot say "Let's Go, Brandon" while greeting passengers over the public address system sought to breach the cockpit to speak with the pilot over his speech crime. "TFW you're trying to go on vacation and then the pilot says the very thing you're working on over the loud speaker and you have to try to get him comment but then almost get removed from plane," AP's Colleen Long said on Twitter. "Also in defense of airline I was asking them to open locked cock pit and probably sounded insane!"
"On Friday morning on a Southwest flight from Houston to Albuquerque, the pilot signed off his greeting over the public address system with the phrase, to audible gasps from some passengers," Long said in her story. Long reached out to Southwest to punish the pilot for his speech crime:
"Southwest Team takes pride in providing a welcoming, comfortable, and respectful environment for the millions of Customers who fly with the airline each year and behavior from any individual that is divisive or offensive is not condoned," Southwest said in a statement. "Southwest is conducting an internal investigation into the recently reported event and will address the situation directly with any Employee involved while continuing to remind all Employees that public expression of personal opinions while on duty is unacceptable."
