Nevada's Democratic governor appears to be trying to stick it to Drumpf by denying potentially life-saving medicine to coronavirus patients. From the AP, "Nevada governor bars malaria drugs for coronavirus patients": Nevada's governor has signed an emergency order barring the use of anti-malaria drugs for someone who has the coronavirus. There's been several promising small-scale studies and many coronavirus patients swear it helped turn their condition around. The drug has been used safely for a whole range of diseases for nearly a century, though there's risks of overdose if it's taken in excess as we just saw with a couple in Arizona. His order also limits a prescription to a 30-day supply so that people cannot find a way to stockpile the drug and ensure it's available for "legitimate medical purposes."Trying to prevent hording is perfectly reasonable considering panic buying, shyster resellers and looming shortages but banning a potentially life-saving drug from being used because some grossly uninformed people decided to consume dangerously large amounts of it in fish tank cleaner form and overdosed or died seems extremely excessive. UPDATE: The AP changed their story to clarify that while Sisolak's executive order bars many coronavirus patients from taking the drug there is a carve out for "patients who are hospitalized with coronavirus."
