Many mainstream and alternative news outlets covered this story at the same time, as if they were all plugged into the same Associated Press service, even though AP didn't release this story.

All of them serve to sensationalize the story. There's no way to prove any of it is real. The whole thing could be hoaxed and none of the media outlets carrying the story are going to do any investigative research to determine if what they are reporting is pure propaganda or not.

Which is why these types of stories should never be carried. What are you going to do, drill your gold to see if it is tungsten? Bull shit. This story is designed to make you not buy gold at all.
