[CORRECTION: I wrongly thought this footage was of Carlos being arrested at the 2012 RNC and headlined it as such, the footage of his arrest is actually from an Occupy Miami event last year. Thank you to commenter Bill for the correction. - Chris, InfoLib]
During the RNC Indybay journalist Dave Id and myself (Jacob Crawford) ran into Carlos Miller of Photography Is Not a Crime. After telling him about our experience being detained for filming a checkpoint and witnessing other videographer's detentions, we decided to go hit the streets to question police about their training around photographer's rights. We also took a moment to have Carlos update us about his upcoming trial this September. Last winter Carlos was arrested by Miami Dade police while documenting the Occupy Miami eviction. Charged with resisting arrest, Carlos was freed after a night in jail and was able to retrieve the deleted video from his arrest. He is confident that the video will exonerate him of the charges against him.
