Airport security forcing mothers to taste their bottles of baby milk

In the psychosis which is gripping the nation in a fear based frenzy of paranoia over an alleged terror plot, our government overlords have truly stooped to a new low. It is now being reported that mothers are literally being forced to drink their own babies milk in order to be allowed to board their flights.

From Stuff.co.nz:
"The restrictions were as extreme as making mothers or someone from a family group taste milk or baby food to prove it was not chemicals that could be used to blow up an aircraft."
From CTV.ca:
"Mothers were forced to taste baby bottles in front of airport security guards to prove it contained milk or formula and not a component of an explosive."
From Fijilive:
"Overseas media reported that mothers travelling to the United States were made to taste their baby’s milk before being allowed into their flight."
From CNNMoney:
"The new rules even go so far as to require mothers who are carrying milk for their infants to taste the contents of the bottle."
Has it really come to this? Is this the type of world you want to live in? One where a mother cannot even feed her child without "proving" her milk is not "a component of an explosive"?

Will this ever end?

This is absolute madness, people. When will this ever end? What is going to happen after the next 9/11 our government is telling us is "inevitable" and can happen "at any time"?

People frequently joke, in order to be truly secure we should all live in prisons.

What was once a joke is now becoming a sad reality. It is hard to even imagine what type of society we will be living in after another 9/11. What about the one after that? And the next?

"For your security"

This whole security charade is clearly exposed in the follow pictures:

"Maya Leoni, who is held by Angela Perez, cries as her mother, A.J. Leoni, pours the last of her drink into the receptacle while in line for the security checkpoint at the Asheville Regional Airport."

As Gabe from BoingBoing highlights:
"POUR IT INTO A RECEPTACLE? Don't you think that some of these potentially explosive liquids might be more dangerous when, I don't know, mixed in a big vat in the middle of an airport?

Christ, why don't they just have people put their liquids into a big bonfire?"
So much for this all being for our security.
