Plainclothes Cops Shoot Random Teen During Manhunt For Suspected Murderer, Charge Him With AssaultChris | InformationLiberation

Plainclothes cops searching for a suspected murderer hunted down a teenager they say was "sneaking through peoples' yards" and was running from the armed officers. "Fearing for their safety," the deputies shot him after they claim he pulled two knives on them. The teenager, 18-year-old Kevion Young, said he had the knives for self-defense and denies pulling them on the cops, he says they were in his waistband and he never pointed them at the deputies. While the cops claim they identified themselves before shooting Young, witnesses said they were "positive" the plainclothes cops never identified themselves as cops until after they shot him.
Let's just say Young did pull the knives on the plainclothes assailants: he had every right to defend himself as he thought he was being chased by armed criminals. Incidentally, he was entirely correct, but as the criminals have badges and the power to kill, he's was not only shot by them, but they charged him with “assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon,” mind you, despite the officers escaping entirely unharmed. One party's "fear for their safety" permitted them to shoot another person despite suffering no harm themselves, while the other party's alleged mere posturing in self-defense out of "fear for his safety" got him charged with "assault with a deadly weapon."
Funny how that works.
Kevion Young is currently rotting in a prison, meanwhile the suspected murder(s) are still free.
