Sorrento, Louisiana police officer James Bell's job is to write people speeding tickets, as part of police chief Earl Theroit's "crack down" on citizen's speeding, he wrote over 300 tickets in the last two months.
After crashing into an innocent woman's car while going over 100 mph, the female victim's lawyer requested the GPS records on Bell's patrol car.
What they found was Bell was a serial speeder, breaking the law some 737 times, including in areas outside his jurisdiction.
Despite repeatedly breaking the laws he is sworn to uphold, the police chief is refusing to fire him, telling WAFB his small department "[doesn't] have the man power" to continue without him.
If you needed any proof speeding tickets are entirely about raising revenue and not at all about public safety, look no further.
