A member of the security staff at a Chicago school was caught on camera this week pushing a female student down a flight of stairs and then punching her in the face. Students at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy watched in amazement with cellphone cameras as the unnamed employee tried to interrupt an altercation between the teen and another student and lost his cool in the process. The victim, who was captured lying at the bottom of the stairs after her dramatic fall, was filmed rising to her feet and approaching the man again only to be punched in the face and sent tumbling back to the floor. The video first appeared after the incident on Tuesday on WorldStarHipHop.com and was then sent to NBC Chicago by a relative of a student at Dunbar. Witnesses say that the safety officer had been trying to break up a fight when the girl started hitting him on the chest and yelling 'don't touch me.' One freshman who watched the scene unravel told NBC: 'He got mad and he just picked up her arm and threw her down the stairs.' At this point in the video, a female administrator or teacher intervenes and goes to help the girl as the man stands aside. But when the teen gets up again and moves towards him, he quickly reacts by striking her in the face. The victim's mother who declined to give her name to reporters confirmed that the incident occurred on Tuesday and her daughter was taken to an emergency room for her injuries. Chicago Public Schools officials have confirmed that the man has been removed from his position at the Academy and they are taking the case very seriously. Read More |
