Warren Goldstein, the Chief Rabbi of South Africa, told Pope Francis to "repent" for his "sin" of criticizing Israel's slaughter of civilians in Gaza as "terrorism."

In a video released Tuesday on social media, Goldstein invoked the Holocaust, suggested Catholics were culpable for the event, and -- while sounding like a timeshare salesman -- presented Pope Francis with the "historic opportunity" to "atone for the sins of Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church during the Holocaust."

"Your Church and predecessor stood by while the first Holocaust was perpetrated and now there are forces that seek a second Holocaust," Goldstein claimed.

He went on to insist that Iran wants to "exterminate Israel" and excoriated the Pope for not speaking out against them.

"Pope Francis, to repent on behalf of the Catholic Church, you must not stand by as a passive bystander like Pope Pius XII did during the first Holocaust while Iran seeks to perpetrate a second one," Goldstein said, shifting the focus from Israel's brutal war in Gaza to a third party.

From The Jerusalem Post, Pope 'colluding with forces of evil' against Jews, South Africa's chief rabbi says:
Pope Francis is repeating "the sins of Pius XII" and "surreptitiously colluding with the forces of evil," Chief Rabbi of South Africa, Dr. Warren Goldstein, said in an opinion video he shared on social media on Tuesday.

"By denying Israel the moral right to fight this war, by comparing its just war of self-defense to the barbarism of Hamas, you repeat the sins of Pius XII -- surreptitiously colluding with the forces of evil who seek to annihilate the Jewish people," stated Rabbi Goldstein while criticizing the Pope's stance.

[...] Defending Israel's right to self-defense, Goldstein cited two American commentators, David Rivkin and Peter Berkovitz, who, in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, accused Pope Francis of "primitive pacifism." Goldstein underscored that Israel's military engagements conform to the principles of a just war, as established by Saint Augustine and the Geneva Conventions.

Highlighting the IDF's efforts in minimizing civilian casualties, Goldstein remarked, "It is a matter of public record that the IDF has done more in this war and previous wars to minimize civilian casualties than any other army in recorded history."
*Cue laugh track.*
In his closing remarks, Goldstein urged Pope Francis to support Israel's fight against Hamas, highlighting the shared threats to Jews and Christians.

"Now is the time for you to lend your moral support to Israel's just war to defeat Hamas. If Israel cannot wage a just war within the accepted international laws of armed conflict, then it will be destroyed," he concluded, emphasizing the global impact of the pope's position.
If you don't support Israel's explicitly religious "war of extermination" to "wipe out Amalek" then you're "evil," at least according to Rabbi Goldstein's logic.

Pope Francis on Sunday condemned Israel's assassination of a Christian mother and daughter at a church in Gaza as "terrorism."

Israel responded two days later by bearing false witnesses against the pair and trying to smear them as "Hamas spotters."

They're now blaming Catholics for the Holocaust and trying to use high-pressure sales tactics against the Pope to get him to sign off on their slaughter.
