Cops 'Help' Struggling Suicidal Vet By Killing Him

Chris | InformationLiberation

From WMC:
GERMANTOWN, TN - (WMC) - Three Germantown police officers shot and killed a war veteran suffering from PTSD, who recently lost his father and was going through a divorce. He also was the father to a 2-year-old daughter; relatives say he adored her.

[...]Germantown police say when they arrived at Cameron Brown Park, Justin Davis was sitting in his Black Charger smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer.

The 24-year-old had a rifle that he was moving around. The Germantown crisis intervention team tried to talk him out of the car for a peaceful resolution.

Investigators say Davis made statements he was suicidal, and he would shoot at officers. When Davis pointed his rifle out the passenger window, three officers fired on him.

He died at the scene from several gunshot wounds. The whole encounter was 15 minutes. Germantown police were called to the scene after getting reports that Davis was suicidal and suffered from PTSD.

24176 Assuming the article is totally accurate (doubtful). A suicidal man with a rifle. Points said rifle at someone, after making repied threats to kill them (and himself). Let me add, I am NOT a huge fan of LEOs. But frankly, I think they waited 14 minutes longer than I would have. My heart felt sympathies to the man and his family. But.............. one points a rifle at me I would have done nothing less. Sorry about his problems, psds, pending divorce and wonderful daughter. But I have a family that is equally important to me. I pray for all involved, since its a terrible tragedy. Any life lost like that is sad. Especially when they have sever mental issues. They are no less dangerous or deadly to themselves or others. But he set the stage for it all to end badly. And even with all his issues there are consequences.
