'The Daily Show' Paints Judge Andrew Napolitano As A Pro-Slavery Racist

Chris | InformationLiberation

On the heels of "The Daily Show"'s demonization campaign against libertarian Peter Schiff (which Peter thoroughly exposed here), his latest target for take down is the brilliant Judge Andrew Napolitano, whom John and Larry Wilmore paint as a pro-slavery racist. In fact, it was their hero Lincoln who said this:
“I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races—that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this, that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”

71211 You have to admit, the Daily Show did a great job making him look like a hardcore racist. Pretty funny stuff.

98118 Right, and the war was really because of tariffs, and slavery was ending anyway,

I don't think it was the Daily Show that made him look racist.

And the rest of the quote.

I have never said anything to the contrary, but I hold that notwithstanding all this, there is no reason in the world why the negro is not entitled to all the natural rights enumerated in the Declaration of Independence--the right of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I hold that he is as much entitled to these as the white man. I agree with Judge Douglas he is not my equal in many respects--certainly not in color, perhaps not in intellectual and moral endowments; but in the right to eat the bread without the leave of any body else which his own hand earns, he is my equal and the equal of Judge Douglas, and the equal of every living man."

Slavery ended the world over without civil wars.

204111 Lincoln was a man from 150 years ago who held some beliefs that fit 150 years ago. What's Napolitano's excuse? Also Lincoln adapted throughout his life and supported African American citizen by the end of his life

204111 Chris- no others areas attempted to separate from the parent country as a result of the chance of slavery ending

See Tom DiLorenzo's comments here:

Napolitano wasn't advocating for 150 year old ideas, he was commenting on other motivations for the civil war.

99110 The primary motivation of the civil war was property rights. The north wanted the the feds to own all the property by incorporating the states. The south said no and so lincoln committed treason by attacking the south. Go look up the definition of treason as defined in the US code.
