Obama: I Won't Release Bin Laden Death Photos

"Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway," says Intel Chair
By Brian Montopoli, CBS News

How convenient, absolutely no evidence of any kind will be provided and the American people have to take this serial lair's word on mere faith. - Chris, InfoLibIn an interview with Steve Kroft for this Sunday's "60 Minutes," President Obama says he won't release post-mortem images of Osama bin Laden taken to prove his death.

"We don't trot out this stuff as trophies," Mr. Obama said.

"We don't need to spike the football...given the graphic nature of the photo it would create national security risk," said the president.

Video of the comments will appear on the CBS "Evening News" on Wednesday.

Republican House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers said Wednesday that the Obama administration should not release the gruesome post-mortem images, saying it could complicate the job for American troops overseas. Rogers told CBS News he has seen a post-mortem photo.

"The risks of release outweigh the benefits," Rogers said. "Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East."

"Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaeda killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet," Rogers continued. "Osama bin Laden is not a trophy - he is dead and let's now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated."

85241 "The risks of release outweigh the benefits,"... Wich means: I don't give a shit wether you believe it or not...

This is nothing more than the same theater play called "9/11"... The difference is that there's a new main character: Barack Obama

As a portuguese citizen, I had high hopes that Obama would really make a difference... What a disapointment...

See, that's what you do with photos taken to prove someone's death--you don't show them to anyone, you see? You don't? You're right, you don't, and you won't. At least, not until we find someone smarter than the last Adobe Illustrator tech we just fired.

"Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway...",
just like they did with Obama's true birth certificate, and with Hussein's double who we captured and killed, saying it was the real man. We're not going to fall for it this time and get caught again, dang it!!

oh yes he will, oh no he won't. i see a punch and judy show in the making, an audience creator. it is a bit like wiki and wikileaks, revelations targeted to maintaining control.

Dave "revelations targeted to maintaining control. "

Yes Dave, and above it all, "it" seems to be doing a great job. <sighing> Examples, since this event (alleged killing of OBL) top headlines across the world, all blogs and forums filled with assorted Q&A. Nothing else seems to matter in the world right now, at least from the news I follow. I don't do tv, but follow several sites and all of them are filled with OBL. More questions than answers, more hearsay than facts, more time spent guessing than answering, and most of all DIVISION. Arguing between the masses, the little ones, the peons, the perfect storm. OH, and MY question, what is really going on? seriously?
