Police arrest man INSIDE his house for taking cell phone video of traffic stop

Wow, this video is scary. The man is recording some police officers from his own garage and some thug cop out of nowhere walks up to him and tries to steal his phone under the obvious lie it's "evidence."

"I'ma take the phone... 'cuz that's gonna be evidence... (Man refuses)... You want to go to jail?... Withholding evidence."

It's clear from the way he's acting it's pure brazen intimidation and thuggery.

CBS reports:

VALLEJO (CBS 5) — The Vallejo Police Department is under scrutiny after a man was handcuffed and cited for recording four people being arrested near his home. [...]

While Duchine was recording, Officer Scott Yates approached and asked for his cell phone, saying it was evidence. After Duchine refused, he was handcuffed and issued a ticket for obstructing justice. Video of the incident was then posted on YouTube.

The article claims police "may be backing down."

But police may be backing down. Duchine said he was recently contacted by Internal Affairs, asking that he may be interviewed for their investigation.

They don't cite any evidence to support the claim they "may backing down." Instead, it sounds like they're trying to lure him into some sort of scam to have him talk without a lawyer, that's hugely problematic, no way in hell should he talk with these criminals.

The cops are ALWAYS engaged in criminal activity. ALWAYS, and they do not want the people to see their corruption on the Internet anymore.

That is nothing I saw 5 "big tough" Kansas city cops roughing up one little teenage girl. I thought to myself what a bunch of punks. If they were real bad dudes they would be roughing up some big bad criminal. But no, the cowards were picking on someone easy. Outrageous. Cop violated the guys home. 4th Amendment GONE. Filming a PUBLIC SPACE paid for by the taxpayer ILLEGAL? Where is the line here? Can anyone else being filmed in a public space demand they not be filmed? For the citizen, law states the individual has NO EXPECTANCY of Privacy right in public spaces. But the COPS do?

"National security" excuse to cover up crimes is now localized, where it is called 'obstructing justice". Whistleblowing a pre-cirme is invasion of the criminal's rights. Un friggable real!
How Obama is handling the issue? Under cover of business, google video will not be available after April 29. Soon these types of exposures wont even make it to youtube to create controversy.

You know...with the advent of digital media, the officers could have kindly approached the guy recording and say, "hey, can I please have a copy of that for evidence?"

Why intimidate someone who poses no physical threat? I know officers are exposed to a lot of crap and some of the people here are reacting solely on a few bad apple cops who are probably rookies out to prove something.

I think it's silly to bad mouth ALL police officers just as it's silly to generalize any one entire group. But I understand the heated issue and how tempers flare when power is abused.

My question is, why are people so upset about THIS one issue when Obama, CEOs, and Banks are stealing billions of tax dollars right in front of our eyes? And people are occupied with silly things like this?

Grew up with my pops being a cop for a while and he himself warned me that about 85% of the cops out there are scum. Of my peer group, seeing those that went into city and state law enforcement made me realize what a fucking joke being a cop actually is. To Protect and Serve is nothing more than a PR campaign painted on their cars. I'd bet for every 1 positive story regarding a police officer there are another 100 contradicting it, and it is a product of hiring requirements (or lack thereof). Not all cops are shit, there are actually some cops that do it for the right reasons. it's just a shame that the majority crooked.

When people post things like "I laugh when cops die because of this" or "This just proves that all cops are corrupt" I take offense. I don't personally know any cops, but most of them just do their job. However there are no videos of this because it is not interesting. Sure there are a few bad cops, just like there are a few dumb ass soldiers or a few inattentive store clerks. Having been pulled over I've met both types of cops but if you show them a little respect they will usually do the same, it's as simple as that.

The key phrase in the above is, "I don't personally know any cops." That's probably because you are a good little sheople. Grazes in the daytime with a brightly colored tag in his ear and back to the barn at night. It's 2011 fool, not 1951. You need to sharpen your powers of observation. Anyone with a uniform these days is an enemy.....except maybe the mail or Fed Ex workers.
And they have been trained to spy on us. It gets worse by the day. Keep on grazing and you will stay safe....until they come for you.

to the anonymous who said it's unfair to badmouth all cops, you need to understand that the American people are at WAR for their liberties and basic human rights, and one soldier in an army is still a soldier in that army, and he is still the enemy. He may not be a bad cop, but the cops that show up with him, or his boss might be, and either way, they became a cop in this day and age when they are made to do things like use sound cannons on American citizens in a peaceful demonstration. You can't pick and choose which one of them you stand up to. It has to be all of them or none. You're either a patriot or a sheep, there is no gray area. Our revolution is on right now, not when it's convenient.
