Attorney General Merrick Garland said Friday that the GOP's criticism of the DOJ/FBI's bias "constitutes an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy." "I certainly understand that some have chosen to attack the integrity of the Justice Department by claiming that we do not treat like cases alike," Garland said. "This constitutes an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy and essential to the safety of the American people." Garland insisted the DOJ's only "makes our cases based on the facts and the law" and claimed the DOJ/FBI/ATF's agents "every day, often at great person risk, protect the American people and secure its safety." "Our cases are based on their work," Garland deflected. "I could not be more proud to work with them." Translation: if you don't accept Garland's corrupt rulership and blatant political bias you're attacking democracy and putting agents' lives at risk.
