Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Kiev on Monday to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky and pledge an additional $500 million in US military aid.
From the AP, "US President Biden pledges military aid during Kyiv visit": President Joe Biden made an unannounced visit Monday to Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, a gesture of solidarity that comes days before the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of the country."Democracy" in this context means Zelensky's military dictatorship where opposition parties are banned, Orthodox Christian priests are rounded up and the state runs all major media outlets. Biden pledged to send Ukraine more High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) along with other military aid. Zelensky said he spoke with Biden about "long range weapons and the weapons that may still be supplied to Ukraine even though it wasn't supplied before," according to the AP.
