GOP Establishment Responds to FBI Raid On Mar-a-Lago With Sound And Fury Signifying Nothing

The GOP establishment on Monday responded to the FBI's outrageous raid of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home by whining about Democrats' double standards and promising future "investigations" if they take back the House.

GOP House leader Kevin McCarthy put out one single tweet over the raid, politely asking Attorney General Merrick Garland to "preserve your documents" and "clear your calendar" because if Republicans take back the House they'll conduct "immediate oversight" of the DOJ.


No doubt Garland is shaking in his boots!

Remember how Republicans used to mock Democrats for writing "sternly worded letters" to the UN complaining about foreign dictators rather than launch military interventions? How is this any different?

The only documents Garland needs to preserve are his tax records because the Republicans will give him a giant tax cut.

The House Judiciary GOP, headed by Rep. Jim Jordan, asked, "Doesn't the FBI have better things to do than harass the former PRESIDENT?"


They're literally planning to jail their political opposition -- as they've been doing for nearly two years straight -- so no, they don't have anything better to do. Jailing Trump to keep him from running is their top priority.

"If they can do it to a former President, imagine what they can do to you," the House Judiciary GOP said in a tweet, ignoring the fact Jan 6 political prisoners have been getting rounded up for two years straight and subject to racial torture in DC jails.


Jordan concurred with McCarthy's statement but asked for Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler to step up and bring Merrick Garland and Chris Wray before the House Judiciary Committee this Friday -- which will never happen.


Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who would probably sail to victory in the GOP primary if Trump was jailed, complained about Democrats' hypocrisy and connected the raid to Democrats raising taxes and expanding the IRS.

"The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime's political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves. Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic," DeSantis tweeted.


Florida Senator Marco Rubio acted like this was the first time the regime's opponents have been targeted.

"Using government power to persecute political opponents is something we have seen many times from 3rd world Marxist dictatorships. But never before in America," Rubio said, ignoring the giant list of political prisoners this regime has persecuted over the last two years.


Rubio also whined about the Democrats bill to hire 87,000 new IRS agents (DeSantis appears to have simply copied his tweet).


Rubio also whined about Democrats' hypocrisy.


Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell didn't even bother to put out so much as one tweet on the raid.

In contrast, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene -- who is despised by the GOP establishment and was stripped of all her committees last year -- put forward an actual plan to fight back.

"DEFUND THE FBI!" Greene said.


Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, another representative despised by the GOP establishment, called for the FBI to be destroyed.

"The FBI raid on Trump's home tells us one thing. Failure is not an option. We must destroy the FBI. We must save America. I stand with Donald J. Trump," Gosar said.


Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini, who is running for Congress in the Seventh Congressional District, called for the Florida Legislature to "call an emergency legislative session & amend our laws regarding federal agencies" to "Sever all ties with DOJ immediately."

"Any FBI agent conducting law enforcement functions outside the purview of our State should be arrested upon sight," Sabatini said.


How many times does the FBI need to be caught manufacturing terrorism and raiding their political opposition for Republican leaders to actually move against them?

We know thanks to multiple whistleblowers that the FBI is training agents that American patriots are domestic terrorists and is "encouraging and incentivizing" agents to reclassify cases as "domestic violent extremism" to prop up their false narrative that "white extremists" are our country's "greatest threat."

The truth is the GOP establishment couldn't care less about this raid, they want Trump to be thrown in jail because they don't want him to run again in 2024.
