The US State Department, the largest funder of the White Helmets group in Syria, has frozen all funding to the organization indefinitely. Officials say the group is "under active review," but provided no specifics on when this might be lifted. In early 2017, Trump similarly shut down a CIA program which was funding and arming rebel terrorist groups in Syria working to overthrow Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.
Incidentally, ISIS was largely defeated in Syria shortly thereafter.
