U.S. Accuses Russia And Assad of Bombing Syrian Civilians For Kicks

Citing a sad video she saw on the internet of a girl being pulled from rubble, Obama appointed US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power just accused Russia and Assad's government of bombing civilians and humanitarian convoys for kicks.

From Reuters:
The United States on Sunday called Russia's action in Syria "barbarism," not counter-terrorism, while Moscow's U.N. envoy said ending the war "is almost an impossible task now" as Syrian government forces, backed by Moscow, bombed the city of Aleppo.

The United Nations Security Council met on Sunday at the request of the United States, Britain and France to discuss the escalation of fighting in Aleppo following the announcement on Thursday of an offensive by the Syrian army to retake the city.

Samantha Power is married to Cass Sunstein.
"What Russia is sponsoring and doing is not counter-terrorism, it is barbarism," U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, told the 15-member council.

"Instead of pursuing peace, Russia and Assad make war. Instead of helping get life-saving aid to civilians, Russia and Assad are bombing the humanitarian convoys, hospitals and first responders who are trying desperately to keep people alive," Power said.
Power literally tried to use as an argument a sad video she saw on the internet of a small girl being pulled from some rubble after a bombing:

[The YouTuber who uploaded the video just pulled it for some reason, here's the full video with it starting at around the same time.]

Under Obama, the US's foreign policy is now being decided by a woman who watched a sad war video on the internet. As the video no doubt made her cry, she felt it appropriate to accuse Russia and Assad of war crimes before the UN.

LOL!

Here's some more of her insane ranting:

Just a few days ago, the US bombed a Syrian Army outpost and helped ISIS overrun their position. In July, a US airstrike in Syria killed "at least 73 civilians," which The Guardian reported was "the deadliest coalition attack on non-combatants since the start of the bombing campaign."

Does Power care about those deaths? No, of course not. No one sent her a sad video of those people's kids suffering.

Russia and Assad are not just targeting civilians for kicks, they're trying to retake their nation back. It's the US's insane policy to support certain rebel terrorist groups while trying to undermine others which is incoherent and leading to such a prolonged conflict. Russia is simply supporting Assad to take Syria back. Lives will be lost in the process and sad things which will make people cry will happen. The goal is to prevent the nation from falling to ISIS which would lead to even more deaths -- or to put it in terms Power would understand -- more little girls crying in sad internet videos.

Of course, the US knows this, but they're supporting ISIS because as one Israeli think-tank said it's a "useful tool" in overthrowing Assad and eventually Iran.

Reuters continues:
A Sept. 9 ceasefire deal between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov aimed at putting Syria's peace process back on track effectively collapsed on Monday when an aid convoy was bombed.

"In Syria hundreds of armed groups are being armed, the territory of the country is being bombed indiscriminately and bringing a peace is almost an impossible task now because of this," Russian U.N. Ambassador Vitaly Churkin told the council.

Britain's U.N. ambassador, Matthew Rycroft, said on Sunday the U.S. and Russian bid to bring peace to Syria "is very, very near the end of its life and yes the Security Council needs to be ready to fulfill our responsibilities."

"The regime and Russia have instead plunged to new depths and unleashed a new hell on Aleppo," Rycroft told the council. "Russia is partnering with the Syrian regime to carry out war crimes."

However, Russia is one of five veto-powers on the council, along with the United States, France, Britain and China. Russia and China have protected Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government by blocking several attempts at council action.

"It is time to say who is carrying out those air strikes and who is killing civilians," Power said. "Russia holds a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council. This is a privilege and it is a responsibility. Yet in Syria and in Aleppo, Russia is abusing this historic privilege."
Next meeting is Power going to accuse Putin of having white, cis male privilege?

Bizarre spread Power did for Vogue showing how she has to balance "diapers and diplomacy."

Obama literally bombs ambulances and rescue crews as an explicit matter of policy with so-called "double tap" drone strikes in Pakistan. He also bombed a hospital in Afghanistan just late last year.

When the US bombs civilians, they try to deflect responsibility or say "mistakes were made" -- yet when Russia and Assad allegedly do it they say they're "targeting civilians" for extermination. What the hell type of way is this to conduct international relations?
