Video Of Chicago Cop Murdering Teen Shows Another Shooting of Convenience

Video has finally been released of police officer Jason Van Dyke shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald on the night of October 20, 2014.

What it shows is the officer committing a "shooting of convenience," gunning a young man with a knife down not because he felt his life was threatened, but because he was too lazy to do actual police work.

Despite McDonald seen walking away from the officer, the officer shot him 16 times, stopping to reload after emptying a clip into him, then shooting him up again after he had already fallen to the ground, was actively dying, and was clearly not a threat.

Nonetheless, Van Dyke's lawyer claims his client "feared for his life."

He "believed he was in fear for an attack and for the safety of anyone else on the scene," representing attorney Daniel Herbert said.

"He knows in his heart of hearts that his actions were appropriate."

Fortunately, though perhaps only because of pressure from the public as Chicago is not a bastion of police accountability, Van Dyke was charged with first degree murder in the case, which makes him the first on-duty officer in Chicago history to have ever been hit with such charges.

"It is my determination that this defendant's actions -- of shooting Laquan McDonald when he did not pose an immediate threat of great bodily harm or death, and his subsequent actions of shooting Laquan McDonald while he lay on the ground after previously being struck by gunfire --- were not justified and they were not a proper use of deadly force by this police officer," said Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez.

Chicago is a state where cops can be caught viciously beating innocent women on video and be given probation, don't hold your breath hoping these charges will stick.
