A Milwaukee police officer allegedly rammed a motorcyclist and his passenger off the road, then cited him for "failing to yield to an emergency vehicle," Fox 6 reports. The man was part of a large group of around 250 motorcyclists who were taking part in the annual Miltown Throwdown ride on Saturday, video shows some of the bikers were popping wheelies and one biker was seen recklessly driving on a sidewalk. A police officer who was attempting to lead the group of motorcyclists is seen on video swerving wildly in front of the biker group, when a man tries to pass to his left, the cop appears to ram him off the road. Milwaukee police say their officer was trying to "bring their speed down and set a pace for the group," they say the biker tried to drive around the cop and struck into his squad car, then veered off the road. Billy Charles, who took part in the Throwdown, disagrees. He told CBS 58 "the video plainly, clearly shows us riding behind him and then when you see us trying to pass him you see him swing over to hit you. The video; it doesn't lie." "We've never seen a cop do this before. Every, what that police officer did, in all my years of riding. You pull us over, you tell us what you want us to do that's it you go on," Charles said. |
