A Florida man searching for treasure from a Spanish fleet of ships which shipwrecked off the coast of Florida in 1715 found 1$ million worth of gold coins and chains on the ocean seabed. Evidently, the rights to search the area where the ships wrecked is owned by a company called Queens Jewels LLC, contractors pay them a fee to search the area and give them half the value of whatever they find, after %20 is seized by the state of Florida. The man who found the sunken treasure said it's believed there's still $400 million worth of valuables from the wreck yet to be dug up. It's worth noting if he had found paper currency it would be worthless, yet 300 year old gold is shiny, beautiful and as valuable as ever. |
